Chase Highweeler Delivery Van
There are not many old delivery vans or lorries of this kind which still exist in such good and authentic condition.
After all, they were workhorses that led a relatively hard life. This Chase was discovered in a deserted barn in Indiana, buried amongst tractors and other farm equipment. It is an example of a make that only existed for a few years as a motorcar manufacturer, from 1907 to 1912.
Chase was established in Syracuse in New York State and specialised in commercial vehicles, based on the popular American ‘highwheeler’ of the time. This 1908 delivery van with its twin-cylinder 2.6-litre, air-cooled engine, was a typical example.
