Honda S800 Coupé
A small, high-revving engine and a lightweight body; the origin of Honda as a motorcycle manufacturer is evident in everything about this S800 Coupé.
The sporty Honda S800 with its 791 cc, four-cylinder, 70 hp engine, revving to 8,000 rpm could reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
Soichiro Honda started producing motorcycles in 1948 and twenty years later he had become the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. T
he production of cars began in 1962. Apart from a small pick-up truck he developed a twelve-cylinder Formula 1 racer; shortly afterwards he launched his first proper passenger car, the S500. The S800, which was a derivation, was produced from 1965 to 1970. Approximately 11,000 Honda S800s were produced.
